  • Faena Hotel + Universe | Martha Salotti 445 | 4021-5555 | Super-posh new boutique hotel built out of an old silo in Puerto Madero's Puerto Este district, designed by Frenchman Phillipe Starck. Very unique, very expensive. Gym, spa, hamam.
  • Hilton Buenos Aires | Macacha Güemes 351 | 4891-0000 | Popular large hotel in Puerto Este area. Excellent pool, business services.

Downtown - Retiro:

  • Marriott Plaza | Florida 1005 (& Marcelo T de Alvear) | 4318-3000 | Subte C (San Martín) | This luxurious establishment across from Plaza San Martín became part of the Marriott chain in the 90s. No less than 3 great restaurants onsite and impeccable service.
  • Sheraton Buenos Aires | San Martín 1225 (LN Alem & Madero) | 4318-9000 | Subte C (Retiro) | The upper levels of this soaring 752-room tower have gorgeous views, but the overall feel is fairly coporate and bland. Gym, tennis court, pools.
  • Sofitel Buenos Aires | Arroyo 841 (Suipacha & Esmeralda) | 4131-0000 | The rooms aren't exactly expansive, but the 1920s art deco building is grand, the views are good, and there's a fabulous restaurant attached. Cafe, gym, pool.
  • Four Seasons | Posadas 1086 (& Cerrito) | 4321-1200 | Subte C (San Martín) | Classic and modern dovetail perfectly in this exclusive tower on the border of Retiro and Recoleta barrios. Personalized service, outdoor pool, gym, business facilities.

North of Center - Recoleta

  • Alvear Palace | Alvear 1891 (Callao & Ayacucho) | 4808-2100 | A classic Buenos Aires establishment, this truly world-class hotel is literally fit for royalty. Located on one of the city's most fashionable blocks, the place exudes wealth and privilege. And it has a top notch French restaurant.
  • Caesar Park | Posadas 1232 (Montevideo & Libertad) | 4819-1100 | Steps from the posh Patio Bullrich mall, this elegant hotel now belongs to the Mexican luxury chain. Marble floors, pool, top-notch restaurant.
  • LoiSuites Recoleta | Vicente López 1955 (Junín & Ayacucho) | 5777-8950 | Right across from the Recoleta cemetary, this very popular member of a locally run chain has plenty of comfort and style to spare. Business center, pool, 2 restaurants.
